Sumatra and Coffee

Sumatra and Coffee
When you drink specialty coffee from Sumatra, you are enjoying a bean that was grown by a micro-lot farmer. Sumatra does not have coffee “plantations.” So, you are really helping the little guy when you drink one of these.

Mexico On My Mind

Mexico Calls

The taxi drive to Ixtapan de la Sal from the capital was memorable. See, I had spent most of my life in upper middle class California. Private school. Summers splashing in my pool with my brother, sister, and friends. I didn’t know how good I had it.

Until that drive to Ixtapan. The 2 hour (?) drive was dotted with pueblos filled with the poorest people I had ever seen. Poor people in tiny villages and huge churches.

Papua New Guinea (PNG): The Most Exotic Place on Earth

Papua New Guinea (PNG): The Most Exotic Place on Earth
Much of the PNG coffee is grown in the Mount Hagen area of the Island. Here, every square metre of land is owned by clans and families, showing just how important sustainable farming is to everyday life in Papua New Guinea (adventurebagging.co.uk).

When you drink this coffee, you are literally enjoying a beverage from the most exotic place on earth where the small farmer is rewarded by your purchase.

Except for our Peruvian, of course!
